What you should know about FRANKLIN FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES

Consultancy in Franklin, Professional Counsellors in Franklin

Founded in 1982 and incorporated in 1985, the Trust is operated by a Governance Board of Trustees and a blend of professional and voluntary service providers. In 1994, the Family Support Centre purchased their premises at 2 King Street Pukekohe and provided most of their services from this location. In 2008 the organisation completed the transition from an incorporated society Family Support Centre, to a charitable Trust Franklin Family Support Trust known as Franklin Family Support Services. It had been evident for a number of years that our iconic building in King Street was struggling to accomodate all of our people and range of services.
A number of key personnel have received community awards in recognition of the excellent service provided by the organisation. Franklin Family Support Services in Pukekohe is a leading agency for social services in the Franklin District. We have been providing support and services to the community since 1982 with a strong team of both volunteers and professionals. In 2015 We moved from our home of many years at 2 King Street to 6 Roulston Street in Pukekohe, right across the road from where we began service all those years ago. Today our Counsellors work with a range of people to explore the stress and anxiety they may be experiencing and help them resolve issues in their lives which are making it difficult for them to live happily and positively.
We also help each other out when it is busy to ensure clients and customers do not have long waits. The Board meets once a month and periodically hold workshops for development and planning.
The Board of Trustees play a critical role in ensuring Franklin Family Support are positioned to identify services needed in our community. At least once a year the Board hold a community reporting meeting for Franklin residents to brief them on activities and issues over the past year. They also use the meeting to get feedback on needs and issues in the community. Those contract funds are to provide services to 686 individuals and families.
We also receive funding from Counties Manukau DHB for the medical transport initiative. We also acknowledge the following organisations for their donations in products and services . The vision is for Auckland to be the World's Most Liveable City over the next thirty years. Franklin is a ward of Auckland, projected to be the most populous of all Auckland wards in 25 years' time.
