That varied background and experience has embraced retailing and accounting and experience in the community and a number of church parishes as well as personal life. Chartered Accountant experience and Chartered Secretary registration and a Management Diploma. Experience in Commercial Accounting in a significant group corporate environment as the Group Accountant and Secretary. Management experience leading a finance team and working directly with a CEO as part of the executive management team.
Ten years experience in financial and management accounting with particular strengths in analysis and reporting. Project management experience as part of acquisitions and major new equipment purchases. Business acumen developed by being part of acquisitions and major new equipment purchases as well as being a daily part of a management team. From there I moved into cost accounting and training as an accountant, progressing to be Finance Manager and Group Accountant Company Secretary for a group of companies covering media, printing and retail areas.
At 38 I entered into Theological training and after four years, entered into an 18 year church ministry involving parishes in Taranaki, Whangarei, Manawatu and Franklin. During my time in all these areas, I have developed over the last twenty years nearly, a sound general knowledge of computers and quite a range of software. I also have a Theology Degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education Guidance Studies and have done a course in offering Professional Supervision. As my resume notes, I love reading, am active in cycling, gym and horse riding, plus I'm interested in other sports, jazz, old time and ballroom dancing and Scottish Country Dancing, have been involved in the community running an extended family household, in Jaycees, forming a community committee and served two terms on the Hastings City Council.
I'm married to Dorothy Dot and we share six adult children and twelve grandchildren
